Across Lincoln, something meaningful is taking shape.
More employers are stepping up to support working families—and we’re proud to recognize 26 additional organizations through the Lincoln Family-Friendly Workplace Certification Program, led by Lincoln Littles in partnership with Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development (LPED).
A Growing Community of Employers
This latest group of certified workplaces includes:
Arbor Day Foundation, Assurity, BCom, Belmont Community Center, Black Hills Energy, Charter Title & Escrow, Children’s Nebraska, Civic Nebraska, Dimensions Educational Research Foundation, Family Service Lincoln, Google, Las Abejitas Bilingual Education Center, Lincoln Children’s Museum, Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska, Lutz, Monolith Resources LLC, NEBCO, Inc., Nebraska Investment Finance Authority, Nebraska Wesleyan University, NRC Health, Olsson, Schwisow Construction, Speedway Motors, Speedway Properties, Union Bank & Trust and University of Nebraska Foundation.
They join 13 organizations recognized earlier—together building a stronger, more family-friendly Lincoln.
Why It Matters
Balancing work and care is everyday life for many families.
“Family-friendly workplace practices ensure parents have what they need to be their best—at work and at home,” says Anne Brandt.
And it doesn’t just help families.
“Family-friendly policies are not just good for employees; they strengthen the whole organization,” adds Allison Hatch—often leading to lower absenteeism and a healthier workplace culture.
Building What’s Next
This work is also about Lincoln’s future workforce.
As Jason Ball shares, childcare and early childhood programs are essential to talent development.
To earn certification, employers meet at least seven out of ten family-friendly criteria—but more importantly, they’re part of something bigger.
Because when workplaces work better for families, the impact reaches far beyond the office.
Complete the free self-assessment application online—it takes about 15 minutes.
The assessment is designed to measure how family-friendly your organization is and offer ideas for practices that support working families, no matter your size or industry.
Applications are reviewed quarterly by the Lincoln Littles Board of Advisors Engagement Committee.
